Eight floors of new office space with spectacular London views

Revamping one of central London’s busiest stations, and providing a new eight-storey office building above, was a major engineering achievement. Sauter’s EY3600 range of products was chosen to complement this amazing new building.

The new eight-storey office building offers virtually column-free floors of 50,000 square feet, with the upper floors having spectacular panoramic views across the City landscape towards St Paul’s Cathedral.

Bridge construction techniques adapted

The building itself represents a major feat of engineering. Constructed of glass and steel, complex techniques used in the creation of the world’s major suspension bridges were adapted to give the dramatic appearance of the building ‘floating’ above the station. When fully occupied, the building will provide a workplace for up to 4,000 people.

Cannon Street station handles 27 million passengers per year and is one of London’s busiest stations. This redevelopment involved not just the new office building, but a complete revamp of the station and provision of up to 10,000 square feet of retail space.
